MUSICWelcome to the listening room. Here you will find excerpts of various concert recordings of Mr. Popa’s choirs over the past several years. All recordings were live in concert except where noted. With the purchase of recording equipment in 2007, Mr. Popa has begun engineering and mastering his own recordings. Currently he is using Rode NT microphones and an Edirol R4 digital recorder. Holiday ConcertsMr. Popa’s choirs have performed a variety of holiday literature with an emphasis on newer compositions and innovative presentations. For December 2007, Mr. Popa selected several compositions of local Lima composer John Timmerman and had them specially arranged for the choirs. Sacred Spaces ConcertsEach year the Lima Senior choirs perform a concert in a local church (location varies by year) known as Music for Sacred Spaces. Although some of the music is religious by nature, all of the secular music performed would be suitable for performance in any place of worship. The concert centers on music from choral contest and feature student solos and ensembles.
