Welcome to the website of Stephen J. Popa, conductor, vocalist, and educator.

Stephen J. Popa has taught choral music for fifteen years, the past ten of which have been at Lima Senior High. Mr. Popa holds a BME degree in vocal music from Baldwin-Wallace College and a MM degree in choral conducting from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. His conducting studies have been with Dr. Earl Rivers and Dr. John Leman with additional studies under Dr. Christopher Robinson in Cambridge, UK. Mr. Popa holds active membership in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) and the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA). His students are regular recipients of superior ratings in OMEA festivals and are frequent members of OMEA and ACDA local, state, and multi-state honor choirs. Mr. Popa has sung professionally in Cincinnati with the Vocal Arts Ensemble and the professional choir of St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, in which he is still an active member for special concerts.
